Sheffield Artists Taking Over !

September 6, 2017

Sheffield artists are taking over Orchard Square Shopping Centre this autumn. September will see Lynne Chapman sketching life in the Shopping Centre and creating magical textile pieces from these drawings. You will see her out and about sketching in the square, or you can drop-in to find out what she is working on. She’ll also be offering urban sketching workshops to people who want to join in.
Lynne is an illustrator, with 33 years’ experience. She has 30 published children’s picture books, and is also an urban sketcher. She is interested in different forms of visual storytelling: using long strips of watercolour paper, sketching visual time-lines of events as they occur, weaving together images of people, places and happenings as one moment flows into the next.
This is the second in a series of 4 residencies based in the Craft Units on the upper deck of Orchard Square that are being supported by Sheffield Culture Consortium through the Making Ways Project, and London and Associated Properties.
