Our Charity of the Year for 2026…
We’re so proud to announce our Charity of the Year for 2026…💛
Introducing b:friend (TAG) – a wonderful charity right here in our region that’s tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people, one friendship at a time.
Since 2017, b:friend has created over 3,200 meaningful friendships across South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire – pairing volunteer befrienders with older neighbours for a weekly visit or phone call over a cuppa☕
This June, keep an eye out for our brand new Chatty Bench arriving at Orchard Square – painted in b:friend colours and designed to do exactly what it says on the tin. Pull up a seat, start a conversation, and make someone’s day💬(The image shown is an artist’s impression of the bench – we can’t wait to reveal the real thing!)
Community is at the heart of everything we do here – and b:friend embodies that perfectly. Please keep an eye our for more events, initiatives and ways to get involved!
