SAPIENS PROJECT OPENS IN ORCHARD SQUARE!
Did you know that The Sapiens Project in Orchard Square is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at creating one of the most expansive libraries of 3D face scans on the planet. Cool, huh?
Pioneering 3D face scans for diverse applications
The Sapiens Project is not just about enhancing video games; it is designed to diversify game characters and improve human-machine interfaces across various fields, including medical technology, robotics, transport, and customer service. By capturing high-quality 3D faces, this project will inform the future of realistic digital characters – and products.
How does it work?
The 3D face scan is a high-quality digital model created by capturing multiple images from different angles simultaneously. An array of DSLR cameras are used to create the effect – think more professional photoshoot than a secret lab!
How to participate…
Individuals over 18 can participate in the scanning sessions, which involves wearing a vest top and wig cap – albeit no acting skills are required! Each session lasts about 10 minutes, during which participants will review and sign a Model Release form before being scanned.
For individuals interested in contributing to the future of digital representation, the Sapiens Project offers £40 for a ten-minute scanning session at the Orchard Square studio.
For those concerned about data privacy, Ten24 assures that personal data, including biometric information, will be handled ethically and securely, in compliance with GDPR regulations. Participants can rest easy knowing their data will never be used in sexually explicit content or for government surveillance.
